WELCOME This site presents information on some of the vehicles, weapons and other artifacts that comprise the collection of the Patton Museum through photos and material from various contributors who have generously added to this site. It also presents news on the Patton Museum volunteers and their work on projects, events, exhibits and the general support they offer the museum. WHAT'S NEW 8-6-10 - Two new pages have been added to Cobra King Project sections showing recent work. 8-6-10 - One new page has been added to the Panzer IV Project section showing surface prep for painting. 8-6-10 - The World War II Gallery in the Museum Walking Tour section has been modified with photos of the M7B2 Priest and its stowage. 8-6-10

ANNOUNCEMENTS The volunteers welcome the newest member of the Patton Museum staff, Frank Albano. Frank is the new restoration specialist and will be working with O.B. Eddins at Richardson Motor Pool. Little time is left before the display areas of tanks, weapons and other artifacts will be closed to the public on September 7 so they can be prepared for shipment over the following year to Fort Benning, Georgia. A

Maybach HL42 engine from the German SdKfz 251D/9 halftrack was run for
the first time since 1945. In this video
clip, volunteers Syd and Russell Stansbury are shown starting the
engine.
