On August 26, about 80% of the debris covering the floor and other horizontal surfaces was cleaned out. In the RO's area an escape hatch was discovered in the floor (large curcular shape). The red circle points out an arrow that was engraved in the hatch, perhaps denoting orientation of the hatch when being put back in place. |

As much as possible, at this time, debris has been removed from the turret. On the left is the mounting for the coax 7.92mm machine gun. Lower right is the loader's auxillary manual turret traverse. |
The area around the commander's seat has been swept relatively clean. The metal bar in the top left corner is the internal travel lock for the main gun. It has been temporarily secured out of the way. |
