The Panzer IV arrives from Aberdeen Proving Grounds on a rainy day. |
The Panzer IV was thoroughly secured for the trip from Maryland. |
|
This Panzer IV is an early G model with globular muzzle brake. |
Screens cover the openings that were cut out many years ago at APG. |
|
The turret stowage box was also cut open years ago. |
The round engine muffler is rusted out, but the square auxillary turret traverse engine exhaust beside it is intact. |
|
An M88 ARV is brought in to unload the Panzer IV. |
Because the drive train is frozen, the M88 has to lift the tank off the trailer. |
|
Once it is lifted up far enough, the trailer will be pulled out from under it. |
Museum restoration specialist O.B. Edens in white helmet oversees the unloading. |
