All of the vision blocks in the commander's cupola were damaged. Replacements have been acquired, so the old blocks were removed.

A close-up of one of the vision block openings showing the outer metal trim piece. This was mounted using soft metal screws that had to be chiseled off.

When Cobra King was upgraded with a 76mm gun, this sighting vane for the commander was fabricated and mounted on the turret roof just in front of the cupola. Since the Battle of the Bulge version of Cobra King did not have this feature, it will have to be removed.

The bolted on sighting vane is now removed. The metal base will have to be cut off and weld residue ground off.

Don Moriarty continues working on removing the road wheels.

Here another set of road wheels have been removed from the bogie assembly.

Don has also been working on paint removal on the turret . . .

. . . and the hull.
