On Wednesday, January 6, 2010, O.B. Edens and Don Moriarty labored for several hours trying to remove one end connector from Cobra King's track. Without the proper end connector puller, it was extremely difficult.

On Saturday, January 9, 2010, several volunteers, along with museum director Len Dyer and curator Charles Lemons, worked on disconnecting Cobra King's track. Here Don Moriarty works on attaching an end connector puller while Charles Lemons looks on.

Using a ratchet and socket, Don begins extracting the end connector. Unfortunately, shortly after this photo was taken, the bolt snapped off ending the breaking of the track at this location.

Don discovered that more modern M48 end connectors had been used at a location near the rear idler and the proper tools could be used.

Robert Cartwright works the ratchet removing the outside end connector.

The track is broke after both end connectors are removed,
