On December11, a n M88 ARV arrives at Richardson Motor Pool. The M88s hoist will be used to remove Cobra King's turret.

The M88 is in position and the lifting boom is in position.

While observing the turret removal from inside the hull to ensure a clean lift, volunteer Don Moriarty photographed the first rays of sunlight as the turret is lifted free.

The M88's boom lifts the turret from the hull . . .

and backs up so that a turret stand can be placed in position.

A turret stand is moved into placed to accept the turret.

Steel beams are placed on the turret stand temporarily until the turret is positioned squarely over the stand.

Once the turret is in position, the beams are removed and the turret is set on the stand.
